Trick or Eat® puts a new spin on the annual night of giving – Halloween. Instead of candy, community members across North America raise money online and go door-to-door collecting non-perishable food items.
Every month, over 850,000 Canadians don’t have enough food and need to go to a community food agencies to receive emergency food supplies. This Halloween, make a difference in their lives by supporting Trick or Eat.
There are a lot of ways to be involved:
Do you want to showcase your leadership skills, while giving back to your community? Organize a Trick or Eat campaign! This entails recruiting volunteers, promoting the event in your community, organizing routes, contacting your local food agency, and organizing the night-of logistics. Campaigns can be a few friends, a few families, or a few hundred!
It’s easy! Sign up, ask your friends and family to make donations, choose an awesome costume, head out to your neighbourhood kick-off event on Halloween, and then canvas local houses for non-perishable food donations! Trick or Eat has a big impact on your community, and is a fun night! We hope you’ll join us.
Watch for a flyer in your mailbox a week or two before Halloween to let you know that Trick or Eaters will be coming by. Then, collect some non-perishable food items and wait for the Trick or Eaters to arrive!
Trick or Eat isn’t just about collecting food! It also raises funds for community food agencies (such as food banks and shelters), Meal Exchange, and our chapter network.
